Privacy Policy

Squish must read selected Threads content to filter it. This policy explains what is processed, what is retained, and which service providers help us operate Squish.

Last updated September 1, 2026

1. Who operates Squish

Squish is operated by Orange Iguana. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@usesquish.com.

2. Information we process

  • Threads content: reply, activity, and direct-message text selected by the extension for screening.
  • Screening data: AI classifications, screening status, cached decision identifiers, credit use, and aggregate usage counts.
  • Installation and billing data: random installation ID, email address, subscription status, Stripe customer and transaction identifiers, and purchased credits. Squish does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: extension settings, browser-local cache data, error codes, timing, service status, and privacy-safe diagnostics. Diagnostic logs are designed not to contain screened message text.
  • Website data: ordinary server logs and one first-visit demo cookie used to avoid replaying the homepage animation automatically on every visit.

3. How we use information

We use this information to provide and secure the filter, classify content, remember prior decisions, meter credits, process payments, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, support customers, and comply with legal obligations.

Squish does not sell personal information or use Threads content for advertising.

Squish's use and transfer of information received through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use extension data only to provide, maintain, secure, and measure the reliability of Squish's disclosed Threads-screening purpose.

4. AI screening and content handling

Content requiring AI screening is sent through Squish Cloud to Google's Gemini API. Squish sends only the text and limited context required for classification. Squish Cloud does not intentionally log the screened text. Saved decisions are keyed so the same content can be recognized without using another credit.

Squish uses Gemini through a Cloud project with active billing. Under Google's current paid-service terms, prompts and responses are not used to improve Google's products, although Google may retain them for a limited period for abuse monitoring, security, and legal compliance. Do not use Squish for emergency, medical, legal, or other safety-critical decisions.

5. Service providers and international processing

We use service providers to operate Squish, including:

  • Google Gemini for AI classification;
  • Google Cloud Firestore for installation, entitlement, billing, and credit-ledger records;
  • Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, payments, and fraud prevention;
  • Google Cloud for the Squish API; and
  • Vercel for website hosting.

These providers may process information outside Japan under their own security and privacy programs. We disclose information only as needed to provide the service, follow your instructions, protect users, or comply with law.

6. Retention and security

We keep billing, credit, and installation records for as long as needed to provide Squish and meet accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations. Browser-local settings and cached decisions remain until you clear extension data or uninstall Squish. We delete or de-identify other information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

We use access controls, encrypted transport, secret management, and limited diagnostic logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

You can pause filtering, change categories, clear browser data, uninstall the extension, cancel a subscription, or contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or an explanation of how your personal information is handled. Some records may be retained where required by law or needed to resolve transactions and disputes.

8. Other people's content

Replies and messages may contain information about people who are not Squish users. You are responsible for using Squish lawfully and only with accounts and content you are authorized to access. Squish processes this content solely to provide filtering to you.

9. Age limit and changes

Squish is for people aged 18 or older. We may update this policy as the product or law changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
